We Are the Beacons

People love the idea that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. But the thing is; it's not a tunnel at all. For each of us is a mountain and while there may be tunnels within us, we are not trapped -- alone in the depths of a single cavern with only one way out. We are like the Beacons of Gondor; we need the mountain-tops around us to light up before we ourselves catch aflame with light and hope. We are not meant to do any of this alone and we do not have only one way out of the darkness inside us.
